Résumé

To have clear concepts and precise terminology is the basis of any science. New knowledge is founded from the development and continuity of previous contents, by extracting terms from the mother language, or foreign languages. This article will examine Arabic terminology in the field of Open Access, based on a comparison of the origins in  English language with the efforts made by the French and what have Arab writers done; The author suggests a preliminary list of terms to be discussed seriously and collectively , and thinks that the best term for  Open Access in Arabic is (al- nafad al-maftouh ) and not (al wusul al-horr) (=free arrival).
